Upward™ Basketball and Cheerleading
Grace UMC is excited to join Asbury United Methodist Church and Grove Baptist Church for Upward™ Basketball and Cheerleading this year. Games and practices will be held at all three locations.
Upward™ Basketball and Cheerleading is open to anyone entering Kindergarten through 6th grade.
Upward™ sports programs seek to infuse gospel values into children’s sports, which have too often become ultra-competitive and hostile environments. Upward™ puts the emphasis on sportsmanship, skill-development, fellowship, and spiritual formation through the medium of sports.
If you would like to participate in Upward™ Basketball or Cheerleading, please fill out a registration form. Registration forms are available in the office at Grace UMC Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and on Sunday mornings outside the worship center. They are also available for download here. You may email completed forms to toddnorenhentz@graceumchsv.org, fax them to 430-0704, bring them by the church office Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am to 1:30 pm, or bring them to worship on any Sunday morning.
The cost for the program is $70 for basketball and $65 for cheerleading. The program fee includes player uniforms. The deadline for registering is Sunday, September 13. All children will be expected to attend one of the following basketball evaluations or cheerleading orientations, held at Asbury UMC Five Points Youth Building:
