Chancel Choir

The Grace Chancel Choir provides music leadership during the 10:45 a.m. worship service each Sunday. It also leads music in the Ash Wednesday, Good Friday, and 7:30 p.m. Christmas Eve services, and provides a special program during Advent. Led by Music Director, Nylea Butler-Moore, the choir performs a variety of styles, from classical and traditional to global and contemporary. Rehearsals are held on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the choir room behind the stage. All youth and adult singers with a good musical ear and the ability to sing on pitch are welcome.

Praise Band

The Praise Band leads music during the 8:30 a.m. worship service each Sunday. It also provides music leadership for the Maundy Thursday service during Holy Week. The band consists of vocalists, acoustic and bass guitars, percussion, and drums, with guest musicians appearing on occasion. The Praise Band offers a variety of musical styles including praise and worship, international, and traditional. Adults and teenagers with some proficiency with vocals or instruments are welcome. Rehearsals are held in the sanctuary on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. under the direction of Jeff Rothermel.

Children’s Music Opportunities

Each October, children in grades 2-6 are invited to participate in preparations for a holiday program featuring music, drama, and dance. The program is presented in mid-December as part of the church-wide Christmas potluck dinner.

Child vocalists, instrumentalists, and ensembles present music in worship on occasion throughout the year. Children are also encouraged to participate in the 30-minute concert preceding the family-friendly, 5:30 p.m. Christmas Eve service and to provide music for Children’s Sunday, a child-led worship service held in June.

Youth Orchestra

The Grace Youth Orchestra, led by Robert Schwartz, is open to all youth with at least one year of experience on their instruments. The orchestra rehearses on Sundays at 4:00 p.m., prior to youth group, and performs occasionally in worship and for other events.

Instrumentalists and Vocalists

Proficient instrumentalists and vocalists are invited to share their musical talents in worship services and other events throughout the year. Contact Music Director Nylea Butler-Moore for more information.
