Come Vote on the New Building Proposal!

We will have a Church Conference (for all members of Grace UMC) on Monday, May 19, at 7:00 p.m. in the worship center. Rev. Tom Bell, our District Superintendent, will preside. This is a very important meeting so please make every effort to be there! We will be voting on final plans and final financial arrangements proposed by the Building Committee for a new building. Child care will be provided.

Cosmic City is a fun, floating space city where children can delight in discovering God. Few places inspire the awe and wonder of God more naturally than the heavens He created. Our young space voyagers will enjoy delightful puppet shows, entertaining dramas, contemporary music, energizing games, intriguing science experiments and out-of-this-world crafts. So buckle up, hang on, and get ready to blast into an amazing week as we explore God’s Word together!

General Conference, the international policy-making gathering of the United Methodist Church which meets every four years, is meeting April 23-May 2 in Fort Worth, Texas. Our pastor is attending as an alternate delegate, along with representives from the 50 countries, 48,000 congregations, 129 annual conferences, and 11.4 million members that make up the United Methodist Church.

“Reaching In, Reaching Out” Campaign Update!

Our capital campaign resulted in over $340,000 in commitments toward the Building Fund over a three year period (September 2007-August 2010). We surpassed our goal!

God has blessed Grace UMC with incredible growth since we opened our doors in 2000. The church voted unanimously to proceed with plans for our second building, a family life center with classrooms, youth center, break room, stage, elevator, offices, and storage. Gifts to the Building Fund generated by the campaign will make financing the new building possible.

As of April 2008, about $100,000 toward the three-year “Reaching In, Reaching Out” campaign has been received. The plans are done and we are finalizing bids. Shortly we will call a church conference to vote on the final plans and, if approved, we will break ground. This is an exciting time to be a part of Grace UMC!
