The Church Wide Retreat will be October 22-24 at Camp Sumatanga, featuring Rev. Tom Albin, Dean of the Upper Room Chapel and Team Leader of Program Ministries at the Upper Room. The cost will be $70 for adults. More information is available here.

This August we will take portraits and create a PICTORIAL DIRECTORY with Olan Mills. This will help us all connect names with faces, kids with parents and so much more.

We want ALL of our families to participate! Every family who participates will receive a FREE 8×10 Olan Mills Signature portrait and a pictorial directory with no obligation to purchase anything. Olan Mills photographers are now shooting contemporary portraits as well as traditional poses.

Simply fill out the appointment information, pick a time available and click to save your appointment. Write down your login and password, since you will be the only one that will know it.

Pastor Steve and Todd Get Pied!

Pastor Steve and Todd issued a challenge to the VBS kids and those who support them – if they could raise $1000 (Pastor Steve) and $1500 (Todd) for their mission of the Grace Playground, they would each take a pie in the face. At the VBS Volunteers Dinner, Pastor Steve and Todd made good on their promise and were fed pie by two VBS participants. You can check out all the photos here.

The building is approaching completion! Perhaps you can celebrate by showering the church with a gift of equipment or furnishings. The trustees have approved a “Wish List” of items that are needed to make the transition. It works very much like a Gift Registry for a wedding. Here are instructions:

The Gift Registry including item details is posted in the hallway at church. A copy for reference is at www.graceumchsv.org/wishlist .
There is one designated fund, the “Wish List Fund,” for receipts toward all items. Checks should be made to “Grace UMC” and marked “Wish List.” It is the responsibility of the donor to use the Gift Registry to clarify what your gift goes to (rather than marking your check). Partial gifts toward expensive items may be accepted. Unspecified gifts and funds left after needs are met will be used for remaining items on the list.
