About Grace United Methodist Church
Grace United Methodist Church is a community of faith with a passion for praising God, proclaiming Christ, and serving others. We lead people into authentic relationship with Jesus, help them grow in the image of Christ, and equip them to serve as disciples.
We have a unique story of taking risks to change lives. We were formed by a venturesome, faithful core group from the former University United Methodist Church. Our first gatherings were at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and we moved to a warehouse on Slaughter Road. Construction was completed on our first building phase on a beautiful 21 acres adjacent to the Providence School in the newly developing Village of Providence. Our first worship service was held on the new site on June 4, 2000. We plan on breaking ground on our second major building project in 2008.
The Spirit is alive at Grace UMC! Our worship is filled with music and praise (a unique blend of traditional and contemporary styles), and God’s Word is proclaimed in a way that touches the heart and engages the mind. We celebrate communion monthly and on special occasions. You are invited to come as you feel comfortable. Some people come in coats and ties, dresses and slacks but many come in jeans and sports shirts. Our Praise Band leads the 8:30 service and our choir leads the 10:45 service.
